Valdosta High School Has Over 20 Educators Who Are Members of Black Fraternities and Sororities

The faculty of Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Georgia recently did a photoshoot highlighting their Black fraternity and sorority pride and D9 unity and we at Watch The Yard absolutely LOVE IT!

The high school is proud to have over 20 educators and administrators who are members of Black fraternities and sororities. Even the principal, Dr. Janice Richardson, is a member of Delta Sigma Theta.

We reached out to the school and media specialist Ebonye Bennett who interviewed the faculty and sent us back this collective statement about what its like to work with so many D9 educators.

“It is amazing to work with coworkers who embody a spirit of service and have a high regard for education. Knowing that you have a community of such passionate influencers makes working as an educator at Valdosta high school Worthwhile,” they said.

“As a unit, we lean on each other to not only find creative and engaging ways to propel our students forward, but also on the difficult days, It feels good knowing that someone always has your back. We serve as an example to the student body of the infinite possibilities that are available to them through continued education.”

Check out the photos that were taken by Ethel Jackson below.
