Zeta Phi Beta Honors Juneteenth with Powerful Digital Economic Justice Town Hall

The sorors of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated commemorated Juneteenth 2025 with a virtual Economic Justice Town Hall that celebrated community uplift, intergenerational wealth-building, and the indomitable spirit of one of its own, Dr. Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.”
Held on Wednesday, June 18th, the event honored both the trailblazing vision of Zeta’s Five Founders and the tireless activism of Dr. Lee, a proud member of the Sorority. Zeta’s International President and CEO, Dr. Stacie NC Grant, framed the moment clearly: “Juneteenth is more than a holiday. It’s a reminder of the work still needed to dismantle systemic barriers to equity. Economic justice is essential to achieving the American Dream.”
The Town Hall was more than a symbolic gesture. It spotlighted Zeta’s Signature Initiative, Women Who Win, launched in 2022 to help women entrepreneurs, especially Black and Brown small business owners, build generational wealth. The initiative is rooted in action, strategy, and partnership.
Among the standout collaborations:
- Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) – a historic first for any NPHC organization, offering Zeta members a pathway to certification and entrepreneurial growth.
- National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) – providing aspiring homeowners with tangible tools to enter and thrive in the real estate market.
- The BOSS Network, dFree Movement, and World of Money – all organizations emphasizing the critical role of financial education in closing equity gaps.
Zeta leaders underscored that these partnerships aren’t just programs, they’re platforms for transformation.

As Black America continues to reflect on freedom, equity, and empowerment this Juneteenth, Zeta Phi Beta’s message is clear: liberation is incomplete without economic justice, and they’re working to ensure no one is left behind.
