Kappa Alpha Psi’s Xi Chapter Celebrates 105 Years of Achievement at Howard University
The Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is celebrating 105 years today, marking more than a century of leadership, service, and impact on the campus of Howard University and beyond.
The chapter was chartered on Friday, December 17, 1920, at Howard University in Washington, D.C., under the guidance and principles of Founder Byron Kenneth Armstrong. Over the past 105 years, the Xi Chapter has remained committed to the values on which it was founded, producing leaders and serving communities across the nation.

As part of the anniversary celebration, the Xi Chapter completed a commemorative photoshoot featuring its current members. The photos highlight the present-day brothers as they honor the legacy and history of one of Kappa Alpha Psi’s most historic chapters. The images were taken by Spring 2025 initiate Carsen Manuel.
The milestone serves as a moment for the chapter to recognize its past while continuing to uphold the standard of excellence established by those who came before them.
“It is easy to be ordinary; it takes courage to excel,” the chapter’s guiding charge continues to resonate as Xi marks 105 years of achievement and brotherhood.
