Black Greekdom Mourns The Death of Omega and Beloved Detroit Community Leader Marlowe Stoudamire

Black greekdom is currently mourning the death of beloved Detroit community leader, Marlowe Stoudamire, who died on Tuesday from the coronavirus at 43 years old.

Stoudamire died from COVID-19 on Tuesday according to Henry Ford Health Systems. A 2014 initiate of the Nu Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi in Detroit, he is being remembered as a dedicated husband and father of two.

A staple in the Detroit community, his death has made national news. He recently led the Detroit Historical Society’s award-winning and ground-breaking Detroit 67: Looking Back to MOVE FORWARD project that won the the nation’s highest award bestowed to museums and libraries the 2018 IMLS National Medal.

Stoudamire worked as a Community & Diversity Manager then a project director of international business strategy for Henry Ford Health Systems. He also founded 2050 Partners, Inc., an integrated marketing firm.

He graduated with a B.A. in business from Wayne State University and a MSA in International Administration from Central Michigan University.

According to the Detroit Metro Times, Stoudamire is the 24th person in Michigan to have died from the coronavirus.
