Bajan Sigmas! Phi Beta Sigma Just Chartered a New Chapter in Barbados

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. announced this week that is has expanded its international reach with the establishment of the Upsilon Omicron Sigma Chapter in Barbados, adding to its global network of chapters affiliated with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc., or “Divine Nine.” Known as the “Bajan Sigmas,” the chapter will work to advance Phi Beta Sigma’s programmatic focus areas of Bigger & Better Business, Education, Social Action, and Mentoring within the communities it serves.
The new chapter is aligned with the fraternity’s administration theme, “Empowering Generations of Men to BELIEVE in Advocacy, Community Service, and Engagement,” which aims to deepen the fraternity’s impact in communities around the world. In Barbados, the Bajan Sigmas are prepared to elevate the fraternity’s mission by fostering community development, supporting education, and promoting social action initiatives.




With its establishment in Barbados, the Upsilon Omicron Sigma Chapter reflects Phi Beta Sigma’s commitment to building an international presence dedicated to service and brotherhood. Members of the newly chartered chapter have expressed their excitement in bringing the work of Sigma to new territory, enhancing the fraternity’s role as a catalyst for positive change across the globe.
