Divine Nine Fraternities Unite in Houston for Greek Olympiks Softball Tournament Benefiting HBCU-Bound Seniors

Four Divine Nine fraternities came together in Missouri City, Texas on May 16, 2026 for the second annual Greek Olympiks softball tournament, a charity event raising scholarship funds for graduating Black high school seniors in Fort Bend Independent School District who are heading to historically Black colleges and universities for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. all fielded teams for the day, turning the competitive energy between the organizations into direct community investment. Proceeds support college costs for incoming HBCU freshmen from Houston-area Black and Brown communities, where rising expenses and school closures have added pressure on families sending students to college.

The tournament was hosted by Greek Olympiks in partnership with the nonprofit Kolored World, founded by Kevin Cole. In a statement about the initiative, Cole said, “We want to do our part in Houston, one of the top four largest cities in the nation, by contributing financially, promoting wellness, encouraging Greek unity, and providing support for youth in Black and Brown communities as they begin their academic journey in college.”
Jevon Tillman, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, spearheaded the event and coordinated the day from 4:45 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On the field, Kappa Alpha Psi went undefeated, closing the night with a 21–6 win over Alpha Phi Alpha in the championship game. Omega Psi Phi swept Iota Phi Theta earlier in the day before being beat by Alpha Phi Alpha in the semifinals.
