The Omicron Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., known as the Inglewood Zetas, joined with the Blue Haven Foundation (BHF) to award $35,000 in scholarships to 10 young women from across Greater Los Angeles at the 2026 Scholarship & Awards Brunch on June 7 at Skylinks at Long Beach.

This year’s high school recipients are headed to Spelman College, Pepperdine University, California State University, Fullerton, and California State University, Los Angeles.

The awards included $21,500 split among six Five Pearl Scholars moving from high school into four-year universities, and $13,500 split among four Finer Pearl Scholars continuing at four-year institutions after previously earning Five Pearl Scholarships. The chapter’s auxiliary group, Zeta Amicae of Inglewood, added a $500 book scholarship for a graduating senior heading to a two-year college or trade school.

The brunch, themed “Finer Futures: Rooted in Legacy, Rising in Excellence,” also honored Dr. Letitia T. Bradley with the Extraordinary Zeta of the Year Award for her work as the 18th Southern California State Director of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

The inaugural Blue Haven Foundation Undergraduate Scholar of the Year Award, along with a $500 cash offering, went to Brooklynn Carter, a student at Loyola Marymount University, recognized for her academic excellence, leadership, and service.

“Our scholarship recipients embody this vision,” organizers said in a joint statement. “They are grounded in values, driven by purpose, and prepared to lead.”

The 2026 total marks a steady climb for the partnership, which awarded $8,000 in 2023, $20,000 in 2024, and more than $24,000 in 2025. Since 2023, the two organizations have awarded nearly $90,000 through 35 scholarships to young women attending 15 colleges and universities across the country.

Chartered on June 14, 1993, the Inglewood Zetas continue to carry out the sorority’s principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood through their investment in the next generation of women leaders.
