Sigma Gamma Rho Sorors From Valdosta State University Honor Sandra Bland
Sandra Bland would have turned 34 this year and to honor her life and legacy as well as to speak out about police brutality, her sorority sisters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. at Valdosta State University released a video in honor of her.
Members of the Lambda Beta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. paid tribute to their fellow soror Sandra Bland, who was killed in 2015 while in police custody.
For the video, undergraduate sorors came together and shared their thoughts, talked about where they were at the time, and wished their soror Sandra Bland a happy birthday. As Gen Zers, the young women in this video offer a unique perspective because they were young teenagers when Sandra Bland was murdered and they were seeing what happened to her and the outcry against it as middle schoolers at the time.
