The production company CUT just released the latest episode in their 100 Years of Beauty series, this time covering black men’s hair trends in the U.S. over the last 100 years and it is fantastic.
In the video you see how black male hairstyles have changed dramatically over the past 100 years as the team of barbers and hair-dressers change the hair to reflect each decade on the same model
“One thing we wanted to be really clear about in this video is that hair and politics are always intertwined,” visual anthropologist, Chis Chan, explains in the video.

Check out this second video explaining the historical basis of each hairstyle.
