Black Greekdom Mourns The Passing of the 33rd Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi, Dr. Moses C. Norman Sr.

It is with great sadness that we at WatchTheYard.com inform you that Dr. Moses C. Norman Sr., the 33rd Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi, has passed away.

Brother Moses C. Norman Sr. served three consecutive terms as Grand Basileus for most of the 1980s from 1984-1990 and was first elected to the position at the fraternity’s Grand Conclave in Louisville.

On Tuesday morning, the Fraternity made the following announcement of his passing on their official Facebook page quoting 40th Grand Basileus Bro. Tony Knox, Sr. who called him, “A true Omega Man, a legend, a giant, a man that earned the highest praise while serving Omega for 62 years.”

Dr. Moses C. Norman Sr. was initiated into Omega Psi Phi on December 13, 1954 in Beta Psi of the fraternity at Clark College, Atlanta, Georgia. In the picture below, you can see him in 2nd row, standing 4th from the left.

He held a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Management from Georgia State University.

His three sons are also Omega Men.
