Hampton University Opens Doors To Students Displaced by Hurricane Dorian By Giving Them A Free Semester
Hampton University is opening its doors to students affected by Hurricane Dorian at the University of the Bahamas-North allowing them to continue their Fall 2019 semester by taking classes at their school for free.
The students who choose to take on this opportunity will receive room and board for one semester for free and will be allowed to continue taking classes at Hampton in 2020 at regular rates for tuition and fees.
“I think this agreement is something that can be helpful to a great number of students and families and is part of something I’ve tried to do my entire career —helping people to achieve and meet their goals Hampton University President Dr. William R. Harvey stated.
According to CNN, Hurricane Dorian has killed at least 45 people, hundreds are missing 70,000 have been left homeless. There is currently no power or running water.
