The Alphas at the University of Houston have Started a New Viral Dance Craze Called the $trongMan
The Alphas at the University of Houston have started their own viral dance craze called the $trongMan.
According to the chapter who submitted the video to Watch The Yard, the dance was started by the Eta Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s Fall 2016 line. The dance is spreading its way across the internet and showcases #BlackBoyJoy among educated men.
This is how The Root defines #BlackBoyJoy:
“The climate in America right now is hostile, to say the least. Black men are dying at the hands of authority figures, and witnessing #BlackBoyJoy is a rare, much-needed break from the tragic headlines and hashtags. And let’s be real—the world is highly critical of young black men who express joy.”
To quote the famous Alpha Phi Alpha chant, “We party hard, we stay up late, but most of all WE GRADUATE!”
