22 Chicago Judges Who Are Members of Black Fraternities and Sororities Came Together For This Powerful Photoshoot
A group of Chicago judges who are members of Black fraternities and sororities gathered this week for a Black History Month photoshoot that is taking the internet by storm.
The photo features 22 Chicago judges who are members of Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta.
We at Watch The Yard reached out to the photographer Darryl Hammond who is a member of Phi Beta Sigma and he opened up about the shoot.
“I teamed up with Zeta Phi Beta member (Tiana Blakely) who is a judge, she wanted to show Black Excellence for Black History Month,” he told Watch The Yard.
“I’ve been a member of Phi Beta Sigma for over 30 years and it was an awesome experience doing a photo shoot of Chicago, African American judges from the Divine 9. [Judge Blakely] told me to use my creativity for her vision. I’ve been doing photography since 2011 and this photo is one of the most POWERFUL photos that I’ve taken.”
