Stephanie Mills Inducted as Honorary Member of Zeta Phi Beta
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has announced legendary singer, actress, philanthropist, and advocate Stephanie Mills as its newest honorary member, expanding the sorority’s Alpha Omega Chapter during its 2026 Honorary Member inductions.
The announcement was made on January 21, 2026, as part of the sorority’s ongoing recognition of women whose lives and work align with its principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.
International First Vice President for Membership Gina Merritt-Epps, Esq. highlighted the significance of the induction, stating, “Zeta continues to showcase our commitment to excellence and leadership with the induction of unique and trailblazing women through undergraduate chapters, graduate chapters and honorary membership in Alpha Omega chapter. This newest member will join Zetas worldwide as we work together to advance our communities.”
Stephanie Mills rose to prominence at just 17 years old when she originated the role of Dorothy in the Broadway production of The Wiz, a performance that introduced her powerful voice to audiences nationwide and earned critical acclaim during her five-year run. She later achieved major success as a recording artist, earning gold and platinum albums as well as Grammy and American Music Awards, establishing herself as a leading force in R&B and soul music. Mills returned to Broadway in 2015 and is currently on tour with The Queen’s Tour: 4 Legends, 1 Stage.
Beyond her artistic career, Mills has remained deeply committed to philanthropy and advocacy. She is the founder of The 444LOVE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to special needs advocacy, and has consistently used her platform to champion social justice and amplify marginalized voices.

Dr. Stacie NC Grant, International President and CEO of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., emphasized the broader impact of the induction. “As the number one service organization, we are proud to extend membership to this extraordinary woman,” Grant said. “Soror Mills will work closely with her Sorority to advance its philanthropic initiatives and promoting social welfare. Her influence and expertise will undoubtedly enhance the organization’s ability to positively impact the communities it serves.”

Mills joins a distinguished group of honorary members that includes trailblazers such as Annie Turnbo Malone, Maggie L. Walker, Esther Rolle, Sarah Vaughan, Anita Hill, Esq., Vivica A. Fox, Rashida Tlaib, Tatyana Ali, Angel McCoughtry, Yolanda “Yo-Yo” Whitaker, and Regina Young, among others.
