VH1 Exploits Black Sororities With New ‘Sorority Sisters’ Reality Show

This can’t be real…

Despite extensive petitioning against this show earlier this year, VH1, the makers of the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise, have decided to go forward with their ‘Sorority Sisters’ show which is scheduled to be aired December 15th. From just looking at the trailer and realizing that none of the Divine 9 sororities are endorsing this show, it is very easy for us to come to the conclusion that this will be pure exploitation and defamation of our Black Greek history and culture.

We propose a boycott immediately with the hashtag #BoycottSororitySisters.

Please share this post with everyone you know.

UPDATE: VH1 just released the extended trailer. WATCH HERE

Just disgusted… can’t believe they even found ladies of the D9 that would want to participate in this.. guess discretion stopped once the burning sands were crossed. Bt my mother even taught me home business stays at HOME!

What kills me is that both the AKAs and Deltas don’t want members protesting wearing their paraphernalia, yet they gave the okay for this garbage! smh

That is not the case anymore. Members are allowed to protest wearing paraphernali. And this show does NOT have Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc blessing. Members protested it the first time it was supposed to air and we thought that was the end of it.

No one gave an “okay” for this mess. Clearly you don’t belong to either because if you did you would know that this is not supported. The ladies on this show won’t be members for long.

why didn’t the officers of the sororities issue a ban from participating and state that anyone participating will be expelled?

They stated in the beginning that in no way are they trying to represent others sisters in these sororities. I don’t see what the big fuss is. The views & actions of one doesnt represent all. However, these women are ALOT like the ones I’ve encountered.
