USA Track & Field made a gold medal move this month when they added Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to their “RunJumpThrow” program.
“Statistics show that almost 1 in 4 children is suffering from childhood obesity, so we know that our children need more opportunities to exercise,” said SGHRO President Bonita Herring. “Through the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority partnership with USATF and RunJumpThrow, our goal is to provide more opportunities for exercise and fun.”
The “RunJumpThrow” program was created by the USA Track & Field and Hershey. It is a hands-on learning program that gets kids excited about physical activity by introducing them to the basic running, jumping and throwing skills through track and field in order to excite children about being active and living healthy lifestyles.
