This year, brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. who had received doctorate degrees and were attending their fraternity’s Grand Conclave in Philadelphia came together to celebrate their academic success and do a photoshoot highlighting the fact that the Kappas truly are the epitome of “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.”
Their goal is to take a photo every two years highlighting Kappas with doctoral degrees and as soon as this year’s photos hit the internet, they received a wave of responses about how positive and proud the photos made everyone who saw them.
“Every other year, Kappa Alpha Psi Brothers of The Akademy come together to celebrate our doctoral achievements. Many of us are first generation college students and have made our families, friends, and loved ones proud by obtaining our doctorate degrees and defeating all odds. We are all too often the only ones in the room where it happens. And yet we remain humble, recognize our academic and professional privilege, and strive to set an example for generations to come.” Dr. Kody Wylie told Watch The Yard in a message.
“Perhaps most importantly, we encourage and uplift each other and proudly celebrate our accomplishments. We are the epitome of “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.” We are the manifestation of Brotherhood and will continue to make our founders proud. We are Black Excellence.”
