Black Greekdom Mourns the Tragic Loss of Kappa Alpha Psi Anthony Pearson, Raises Funds for His Daughter

The Black greek community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Anthony “AP” Pearson, a beloved brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., who was killed Saturday evening during a fraternity event in Atlanta.

What began as a peaceful, permitted Kappa Alpha Psi event at Coan Park turned tragic when an armed uninvited masked man sparked a confrontation and opened fire. Anthony Pearson, 33, was fatally shot and killed

Pearson, known affectionately as “AP,” was more than a member of Kappa Alpha Psi’s Gamma Chi Chapter, he was a light to all who knew him. Described by his fraternity brothers as a man who brought joy, wisdom, and authenticity to every space he entered, AP was deeply committed to those he loved. He leaves behind his daughter, Avery, who was the center of his world.

In the wake of this tragedy, his chapter has shared a call for support to honor his legacy and secure a future for his daughter Avery. The fundraiser seeks to provide for her in the spirit that AP provided for his family, friends, and fraternity.

“This call goes beyond fraternity lines,” the online fundraiser states. “This is about love, legacy, and loyalty to the people who show up for us, even when they’re no longer here. Every dollar goes directly toward supporting Avery’s future and honoring AP the way he lived: with dignity, purpose, and love.”

Those wishing to contribute are encouraged to give what they can and share the fundraiser to help uplift AP’s legacy and support his daughter’s future.
