James Baldwin was truly one of the greatest of his time.

Check out this short clip of Baldwin on Dick Cavett, explaining institutional racism to people who don’t experience it. In the clip, Baldwin explains that it really doesn’t matter whether or not whites are prejudiced against blacks, the real issue is how white institutions treat people of color, regardless of intent, bigotry or hatred.
