Zeta Phi Beta Soror Angle Bush Named One of Business Insider’s Most Influential People in AI

Angle Bush, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., has been named one of Business Insider’s Most Influential People in AI, placing her among a select group of global leaders shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

Bush was recognized alongside figures such as NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman for her work expanding access to AI education, literacy, and workforce development through Black Women in Artificial Intelligence™ (BWIAI™), the organization she founded in 2020.

A Spring 1993 initiate of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Bush became a member on April 17, 1993, through the Sigma Kappa Chapter at Central Michigan University.

According to her website, Bush founded Black Women in Artificial Intelligence™ after recognizing the stark lack of diversity in the AI ecosystem. What began as a response to exclusion has grown into a global movement focused on educating, engaging, embracing, and empowering Black women in AI. Today, BWIAI™ connects members across five continents and works to ensure that Black women are not only included in conversations about artificial intelligence, but positioned as architects of its future.

Under Bush’s leadership, the organization has forged partnerships with major industry leaders including Amazon, Microsoft, Capital One, and NVIDIA. In September, she announced a three-year strategic collaboration with NVIDIA focused on AI literacy, credentialing, and innovation pathways, further solidifying BWIAI™’s role as a bridge between talent and opportunity in emerging technologies.

Beyond her organizational work, Bush has become a sought-after speaker and thought leader, challenging institutions and corporations to build technology with intention, equity, and accountability. Her influence extends into academic and advisory spaces as well. An alumna of Central Michigan University with additional studies at Harvard, she currently serves as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Miami and sits on Central Michigan University’s College of Science and Engineering Advisory Board, where she advocates for the next generation of innovators.

As artificial intelligence continues to transform industries and societies, Angle Bush’s leadership stands as a reminder that representation, access, and purpose are not peripheral to progress, they are essential to it.
