Zeta Phi Beta Pledges $750,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has announced a new $750,000 philanthropic commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, marking the organization’s largest pledge to date in support of pediatric healthcare and research. The funds will be raised through 2028 as part of the sorority’s HOPE for St. Jude initiative.
The announcement comes during Sickle Cell Awareness Month, a time when both Zeta Phi Beta and St. Jude actively promote education and visibility around sickle cell disease, which disproportionately impacts African American communities.
Zeta Phi Beta has partnered with St. Jude since 2013, raising more than $1 million to benefit patients and families. The new $750,000 pledge reinforces the sorority’s commitment to helping improve survival rates for children in the U.S. and abroad.
“We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering dedication of the women of Zeta Phi Beta, who continue to lead with purpose and service,” said Ike Anand, President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude. “Their renewed commitment helps ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—so they can focus on helping their child live.”
With more than 125,000 members in over 900 chapters, Zeta Phi Beta will activate its international network through coordinated fundraising campaigns. This includes a multi-market St. Jude Walk team, which has launched nationwide with a goal of raising $35,000 toward the pledge.
Dr. Stacie NC Grant, International President & CEO of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, emphasized the impact of the initiative. “Our support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a testament to impact and resilience. Through our Health Justice pillar of the Power of SHE, members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, stand united in delivering hope, inspiration, healing, and strength to children and families at St. Jude. Our partnership with St. Jude reminds us of the power of resilience, community, and hope.”
The pledge reflects the sorority’s broader commitment to its Power of SHE platform, specifically the Health Justice pillar, which focuses on equity in healthcare access and outcomes. By directing resources to St. Jude, Zeta Phi Beta aims to strengthen the fight against childhood diseases and provide critical support to families.
This latest commitment not only deepens the sorority’s legacy of service but also underscores the transformative role Black Greek-letter organizations play in addressing public health disparities and uplifting communities.
