Zeta Phi Beta’s Dominique Sharpton Wins Tony Award with Core Four Productions for Sunset Boulevard

Dominique Sharpton, an Honorary Member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., is now a Tony Award-winning producer. Alongside her producing partners Haley Swindal and Susan Goulet, Sharpton and their Core Four Productions team earned their first Tony Award for co-producing Sunset Boulevard, which won Best Revival of a Musical at the 78th Annual Tony Awards, held June 8, 2025, at Radio City Music Hall.

The Jamie Lloyd-directed revival, currently playing at Broadway’s St. James Theatre, was the most nominated revival of the season with seven nominations. In addition to winning Best Revival, the production received nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical (Nicole Scherzinger), Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical (Tom Francis), Best Direction of a Musical (Jamie Lloyd), Best Lighting Design (Jack Knowles), Best Sound Design (Adam Fisher), and Best Orchestrations (Andrew Lloyd Webber and David Cullen).

Sunset Boulevard officially opened on October 20, 2024, following previews that began on September 28, and is currently in an extended limited engagement through July 20, 2025.

Sharpton, who was inducted as an Honorary Member of Zeta Phi Beta’s Alpha Omega Chapter during the sorority’s Grand Boule in Indianapolis on July 27, 2024, continues to expand her impact in both the arts and public service. This Tony win not only marks a significant career milestone but also the growing presence of Black women, and Black Greek-letter excellence, behind the scenes on Broadway.
