Did you know that Olympic gold medalist Lillie Leatherwood is a member of Zeta Phi Beta? Leatherwood pledged the Iota Theta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Lillie Leatherwood is an African American track athlete who competed in the 400 meters. Leatherwood was born in Tuscaloosa, AL, and attended the University of Alabama where she pledged Zeta. She also set a record for the 400-m in the 1986 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

In 1984, Leatherwood competed in the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, CA. She raced in the 4 x 400 meters where she won gold with her teammates Sherri Howard, Valerie Brisco-Hooks, and Chandra Cheeseborough. She now works for the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
