David Turner Elected 37th International President of Phi Beta Sigma
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has elected David Turner as its 37th International President during the 2025 Conclave in Tampa, Florida. A results-driven leader with a longstanding record of service, Turner steps into the role with a strategic agenda focused on execution, financial diversification, operational excellence, and technological advancement.
Turner was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma on April 6, 1991, at the Epsilon Xi Chapter on the campus of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Since then, he has cultivated a legacy of leadership within the fraternity, grounded in its founding principles and driven by visionary execution.

He brings more than a decade of transformational leadership within Phi Beta Sigma. His past roles include International 1st Vice President, Chair of the PBS Impact Foundation, Great Lakes Regional Director, and International Auditor. Across these positions, he has consistently delivered measurable results:
- Oversaw record-breaking membership growth and retention
- Established Legacy Societies and introduced innovative benefits like Perks at Work
- Distributed nearly $1 million in grants to local chapters
- Raised over $1 million in assets through strategic fundraising
- Secured free Google and Canva nonprofit licenses, plus Google Career Certificate Scholarships for members
- Saved the fraternity over $100,000 in Conclave Houston operational costs
As Great Lakes Regional Director, Turner led a 30% increase in active collegiate chapters and boosted financial membership by 23%, all while spearheading fundraising initiatives totaling more than $39,000. His tenure as International Auditor brought vital improvements in financial reporting, asset management, and compliance.
Outside of Sigma, Turner serves as Chief Financial Officer in real estate development and property management, bringing more than 12 years of financial leadership experience. His broader professional background includes executive roles in international finance, accounting education, and public policy through appointments in Illinois and California. Recognized by InterBusiness Issues Magazine as one of their “40 Leaders Under 40,” Turner has also been featured as a panelist at national CFO forums on financial transformation and emerging technologies.
