Omega Psi Phi Brings Thousands to Detroit for Conference on Leadership and Youth Empowerment
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has announced that it will host its 2025 Dr. Moses C. Norman, Sr. International Leadership Conference in Detroit, Michigan, bringing together members from across the globe for a multiday gathering focused on the future of Black Greek leadership.
The biennial conference is set to take place from July 23 to July 27 at the Huntington Place Convention Center. According to the fraternity, the conference is expected to draw more than 5,000 members, guests, and community partners. Under the direction of the fraternity’s 42nd Grand Basileus, Ricky L. Lewis, the event will center on the theme “Refining Leadership for the Next Era of Omega,” a guiding principle aimed at strengthening leadership across all levels of the organization.
A notable feature of the upcoming conference is the International Youth Leadership Conference (IYLC), which will offer a series of workshops free to the public. Topics will include self-esteem, goal setting, academic success, health and wellness, and conflict resolution, many led by professionals from fields such as law, medicine, and education.
The fraternity will also highlight its Omega STEM Program, a youth-focused initiative designed to introduce problem-based learning through hands-on workshops in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
On Saturday, July 26, Amazon will host a special panel exploring the future of work, spotlighting emerging technologies and workforce development trends relevant to Black professionals and communities.
For Omega Psi Phi, this Detroit conference is both a reaffirmation of its founding mission and a strategic investment in its next generation of leaders, rooted in tradition, yet attuned to the evolving needs of a global society.
