This Brother of Omega Psi Phi from Morehouse Has Created an Organization That Has Fed Over 125,000 Families

Noah McQueen, a brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and a graduate of Morehouse College, is making a national impact through service, mobilizing students and communities across the country to fight food insecurity, support those experiencing homelessness, and strengthen civic engagement.

Noah McQueen, a sociology major and 2019 graduate of Morehouse College, is the founder and CEO of Lifting Our Voices (LOV), a collegiate-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering students to serve their communities. A 2017 initiate of the Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., McQueen has built a service-driven movement grounded in leadership, consistency, and community care.

A Washington, D.C. native and first-generation college graduate, McQueen’s journey to national leadership began early. After facing significant challenges in his youth, he transformed his path and committed himself to public service, eventually earning national recognition for his work and advocacy. His leadership later connected him with national initiatives focused on youth empowerment and community change.

McQueen’s leadership and personal transformation also gained national attention during his teenage years, eventually leading to an invitation from President Barack Obama to participate in the My Brother’s Keeper initiative during its founding year. Through that work, he joined national conversations focused on expanding opportunity for young men of color and strengthening pathways to education, mentorship, and leadership. The experience helped shape his commitment to service and systems-level change, reinforcing his belief that young people can play a critical role in transforming their communities when given the tools and support to lead.

While attending Morehouse on a full Bonner Foundation scholarship for community service, McQueen founded Lifting Our Voices with the goal of connecting college students, corporations, and local communities through sustained grassroots service. Since its founding, the organization has grown into a national network of student leaders committed to addressing urgent community needs.

Since 2020, Lifting Our Voices has distributed more than 125,000 meals to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, registered more than 2,000 voters through nonpartisan civic engagement efforts, and mobilized thousands of student volunteers nationwide. The organization has established collegiate chapters across multiple campuses, creating a service ecosystem that connects young leaders to meaningful impact.

One of LOV’s signature initiatives, “Sandwich Run,” provides weekly outreach delivering meals, clothing, and essential supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness. During the colder months, the organization’s “Cover the Hood” initiative collects and distributes winter clothing and bedding to those facing housing insecurity, ensuring year-round support for vulnerable communities.

In recognition of the organization’s impact feeding more than 125,000 people and mobilizing student volunteers across the country, the City of Atlanta declared February 1st as “LOV Day,” honoring the work and commitment of Lifting Our Voices and its network of student leaders.

To continue building on this momentum, McQueen and Lifting Our Voices are preparing to host their Third Annual “It’s All LOV” Gala on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia. The national convening will bring together student leaders, educators, civic officials, and corporate partners to highlight youth-driven solutions addressing food insecurity, homelessness, and civic engagement.

The evening will spotlight the work of student leaders across more than 10 universities and celebrate the growing impact of Lifting Our Voices nationwide. As the organization continues to expand its reach, the upcoming gala will serve as both a celebration of impact and a call to action—bringing together the next generation of leaders committed to service, community, and lasting change.

As a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., McQueen continues to embody the fraternity’s cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift through his ongoing commitment to community service and youth leadership. Through Lifting Our Voices, he and the students he leads are demonstrating the power of consistent community action and the role that young leaders can play in creating lasting change across the country.
