Iota Phi Theta Kicks Off 40th Biennial Conclave in Indianapolis
Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated officially opened its 40th Biennial Conclave today in Indianapolis, Indiana. The gathering brings together members from across the country for a pivotal week of business, fellowship, and celebration.
Last night, the fraternity hosted an early arrivals reception where several hundred Iotas and guests from the Divine Nine came together to kick off the week. International Grand Polaris Dr. Sean D. Housen, Sr. welcomed Brothers who traveled from every corner of the country and acknowledged the significance of the fraternity’s biennial business meeting.

Throughout the week, delegates from both undergraduate and graduate chapters will vote on constitutional amendments, resolutions, and other matters that reflect the sentiments of the chapters they represent. Participation will be hybrid, with in-person attendees joined by virtual delegates through video conferencing and electronic voting—enhancing access and engagement across the Brotherhood.
In addition to delegate sessions and workshops, members and their guests will enjoy social activities hosted throughout the week. One of the most important events on the agenda will be the election of national officers, as two slates vie to succeed the administration of Dr. Housen. Voting will take place at the end of the week.
Rooted in social justice since its founding during the civil rights movement, Iota Phi Theta continues to uphold its tradition of civic activism, affirming its commitment to progress, leadership, and service.
