Brown and Gold PAC Issues Statement Condemning ICE and Calling for National Action
The Brown and Gold Public Affairs Committee (PAC), an independently registered 501(c)(4) organization affiliated with Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., has issued a public statement condemning Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following the deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, describing the moment as “a moment of moral clarity in America.”
“The Brown and Gold PAC condemn the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency for the senseless murders of American citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti,” the statement read. The organization attributed the deaths to what it described as a broader campaign of intimidation against immigrant communities and criticized ICE’s conduct as operating outside constitutional norms.
The statement expressed solidarity with Minnesotans protesting ICE activity, praising what it called their “resistance and courage.” “The tens of thousands of Minnesotans who have taken to the streets to oppose ICE, and the millions of Americans supporting them across the nation, are a warning to this president, and his MAGA minions, that true Americans will fight for their freedom,” the PAC stated, framing the protests as a defense of democratic principles.
The Brown and Gold PAC characterized the current political moment as a historic crisis, stating, “We are witnessing the greatest threat to the Republic since the Civil War.” The organization described ICE’s actions as part of a broader pattern of state violence impacting Black and Brown communities and named Renée Good and Alex Pretti as “tragic collateral damage.”
In its call to action, the PAC urged states to take steps to protect residents from ICE and called on lawmakers to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security. Referencing the legacy of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.’s founders, the statement concluded with a call for continued resistance and civic engagement, asserting, “Like those twelve men, we will not cower and we will fight.”
