Basketball Legend Swin Cash Inducted as an Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta
Swin Cash, a basketball legend turned executive, has been inducted as an Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her induction was announced during the organization’s 57th National Convention, recognizing her as part of an elite class of eight women whose careers represent excellence, impact, and leadership across diverse fields.
A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, Cash is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished figures in women’s basketball. Her athletic résumé includes three WNBA championships, four All-Star selections, two All-Star MVP titles, and two Olympic gold medals. She was also named one of the WNBA’s Top 20 Most Influential Players of All Time.
After retiring from professional play, Cash transitioned seamlessly into sports leadership, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations & Team Development for the New Orleans Pelicans. Off the court, she is the Founder and CEO of She’s Got Time, a lifestyle and media company focused on building holistic support systems for women in sports.
Her commitment to community is just as strong. Cash founded Cash for Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through fitness, education, and culture. She has also served as an NBA Global Ambassador, using her platform to champion civil rights and social responsibility.
Cash’s induction into Delta Sigma Theta aligns with the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust and its core principles of Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service. Her legacy of excellence and advocacy reflects the mission of Delta women worldwide.
“This year’s class of Honorary Members represents a powerhouse group of barrier-breaking women across politics, entertainment, business, sports, and social impact,” said Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. International President Elsie Cooke-Holmes. “Each one a force in her field and a reflection of Delta’s enduring mission.”
Swin Cash joins a distinguished 2025 Honorary Member line that includes Donna Brazile, Danielle Brooks, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Janice Bryant Howroyd, Toni Townes-Whitley, Dana “Queen Latifah” Owens, and Fawn Weaver.
