Stormie Forte, The First Black Woman To Serve On The Raleigh City Council Is A Delta

Did you know that political pioneer Stormie Forte is a member of Delta Sigma Theta? Forte pledged the Kappa Omicron Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Stormie Denise Forte is an African American lawyer, politician, and radio host. She was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and earned her bachelor of arts degree in sociology. In addition, she earned a master of science in rehabilitation counseling and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Forte was the first African American LGBTQ woman, to serve on the Raleigh City Council. She is a representative of District D and was appointed to the council on July 14, 2020. Her district is made up of Southwest Raleigh.
