Black Greekdom Mourns The Tragic Loss of Alpha Phi Alpha’s Malik Taylor
Black Greekdom is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Malik Taylor, a beloved member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., known across the Divine Nine community for his unforgettable humor and creative D9-inspired skits that brought joy, pride, and laughter to thousands.
A proud initiate of the Tau Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha at Austin Peay State University, Taylor stood out not only as a proud brother of Alpha but also as a digital creator who used his platform to uplift and entertain Black Greeks. With thousands of followers(his The Unpopular Party YouTube Channel is currently sitting at 94,800 subscribers and his Tik Tok has over 240,000 followers) and countless views, his skits resonated deeply, poking fun, spreading joy, and always rooted in love for the culture.
On Thursday, his chapter shared the following message via Instagram:
“We are saddened of the loss of our dear Brother Malik Taylor. His light, laughter, and love will forever live in our hearts. At this time, please keep the Taylor Family and our Chapter in your prayers! #LLMalik”

Taylor’s passing is a profound loss not just for Alpha Phi Alpha, but for the entire Divine Nine community. His legacy will live on through the joy he spread, the people he inspired, and the brotherhood he represented with pride.
We at Watch The Yard extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fraternity brothers. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.
