Alpha Phi Alpha Just Crossed A Line of Notable New Members in Columbia County, Georgia

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has welcomed a new class of esteemed initiates through its Tau Epsilon Lambda Chapter in Columbia County, Georgia, as part of the fraternity’s Southern Region. The new members were officially initiated on June 1, 2025, and represent a wide range of leadership in law, politics, business, medicine, entertainment, and finance.

The line includes high-impact professionals who have made significant contributions in their respective fields:

  • Judge Marcus Shields – North Carolina District Court Judge
  • Deveron Gibbons, Esq. – Senior Vice President of Business Affairs & Development at Amscott Financial
  • Judge Jeramy C. Beasley – Florida Circuit Court Judge
  • David Pailin – NBA Branding Executive
  • Dr. Dallas Grundy – Vice President for Finance & Administration at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Representative Billy Mitchell – Georgia House of Representatives
  • Adrian Holmes – Actor, known for portraying “Uncle Phil” in the Bel-Air TV series
  • Dr. Eric Mansfield – Former North Carolina State Senator and practicing Otolaryngologist
  • Corey Madding – Senior Financial Advisor & Investor at Edward Jones
  • Kermit Bills – Executive Vice President at Greenline Ventures

The Tau Epsilon Lambda Chapter’s new initiates reflect the fraternity’s enduring legacy of excellence and commitment to service. From courtrooms and boardrooms to the entertainment industry and state legislatures, these new brothers bring a wealth of experience and a shared dedication to uplifting their communities.

The Chief Dean Brother Doctor John Carter, Assistant Chief Dean Brother Vic Carter, 35th General President Everett B. Ward, 27th Southern Regional Vice President Cecil B. Howard, Southern Regional Chaplain Brother Doctor Kenneth Augustus Walker and Tau Eta Lambda Chapter President Brother Carl D. Prescott and the 10 initiates of TEL National IMDP Initiation.

Founded in 1906 at Cornell University, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is the first intercollegiate historically Black fraternity. With a mission centered on developing leaders, promoting academic excellence, and advocating for underserved communities, Alpha Phi Alpha continues to serve as a beacon of Black leadership and legacy.

These new initiates join a brotherhood rooted in manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind—strengthening the Southern Region and the fraternity as a whole.
