Watch The Yard and The National Black Law Students Association Release Joint Statement Condemning Florida and Texas’ Recent House Bills
The passing of House Bill 999 (“H.B. 999”) by the Florida House of Representatives and introduction of House Bill No. 1006 (“H.B. 1006”) by the Texas House of Representatives are an alarming attack on Black and minority cultures by government officials.
These bills seek to erase the history and influence of Black and minority communities and threaten essential pillars of the community, including historic Black organizations and affinity groups.
The National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) and Watch the Yard have come together to release the following joint statement regarding these bills.
