This highly anticipated residency marks the 21st engagement between Performing Arts Houston and the legendary dance company, continuing a historic partnership that began in 1971. Founded by the late Alvin Ailey, a native of Rogers, Texas, the company’s return to Houston serves as both a homecoming and a celebration of world-class modern dance.

Each performance will conclude with Alvin Ailey’s signature masterpiece Revelations, a powerful and emotionally moving work set to African American spirituals, gospel, and blues. Since its debut in 1960, Revelations has become one of the most beloved and widely performed modern dance pieces in the world, known for taking audiences on a journey through grief, joy, resilience, and celebration.
