Phi Beta Sigma’s Tylik McMillan Appointed as National Director of Youth and College for the NAACP
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. brother Tylik McMillan has been appointed as the National Director of Youth and College for the NAACP, stepping into a key leadership role at one of the nation’s most historic civil rights organizations.
A nationally recognized civil rights activist, strategist, and advocate for justice and equity, McMillan is a proud HBCU graduate of North Carolina A&T State University. Throughout his career, he has led movements from grassroots organizing to national policy spaces, mobilizing young people around voting rights, climate justice, public education, and civic engagement.

McMillan helped organize the 2020 Commitment March on Washington and the 2021 March On for Voting Rights, drawing hundreds of thousands to Washington, D.C., to demand racial justice, police reform, and stronger voting protections. His leadership has been recognized by former Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden-Harris White House as a prominent young voice helping to move the nation forward.

Within Black Greekdom, McMillan represents Sigma at the intersection of policy and power. He serves on the Phi Beta Sigma Political Action Committee Board of Directors and previously served as a Social Justice Ambassador for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s National Racial Equity Initiative for Social Justice Task Force.
Phi Beta Sigma took to social media to celebrate their brother’s new position.

McMillan’s work has earned him recognition as a United States Black Chambers, Inc. 50 Under 40 honoree, Bloomberg 50 One to Watch, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Top 10 Most Influential Alumni, Young, Gifted & Green 40 Under 40 honoree, and National Urban League Young Professionals National Trailblazer.
