First Woman to Lead a Major Political Party in St. Kitts and Nevis Natasha Grey-Brookes Inducted as Honorary Member of Sigma Gamma Rho

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has inducted attorney and political leader Natasha Grey-Brookes, the first woman to lead a major political party in St. Kitts and Nevis, as an Honorary Member. The sorority announced the induction today, Friday, July 24, 2026, during its 61st Biennial Boule in Tampa, Florida.

Natasha Grey-Brookes made history in her home country when she was elected leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) at the party’s national convention in June 2024, becoming its fifth leader and the first woman to hold the post. She had previously served in party leadership, including as Deputy Political Leader.

An attorney by training, Grey-Brookes was called to the Bar in St. Kitts and Nevis in 2012 and pursued her legal education in the United Kingdom and at the Norman Manley Law School. Recognized by the bar in both England and Wales and in St. Kitts and Nevis, she has stood as a candidate for the East Basseterre constituency and built a record of cross-jurisdictional legal advocacy.

Beyond the courtroom and the political arena, Grey-Brookes has been recognized for her work in youth development and literacy, causes she has championed as part of a broader commitment to national development and democratic governance.

Grey-Brookes was inducted as part of Sigma Gamma Rho’s Honorary Membership Class of 2026, a group of women recognized during the 2026 Boule Honorary Membership Ceremony for achievements spanning sports, entertainment, education, public service, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and global humanitarian work.

The ceremony took place as Sigma Gamma Rho gathered in Tampa, Florida, for its 61st Biennial Boule under International President Marica T. Harris. In announcing the class, Harris said the 2026 honorees “embody the spirit of service, the power of purpose,” carrying forward the sorority’s mission of Greater Service, Greater Progress.
