Global Humanitarian and Therapist Dr. Ann-Marie Dillard Inducted as Honorary Member of Sigma Gamma Rho

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has inducted global humanitarian and trauma-informed therapist Dr. Ann-Marie Dillard as an Honorary Member. The sorority announced the induction today, Friday, July 24, 2026, during its 61st Biennial Boule in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Ann-Marie Dillard is a licensed marriage and family therapist whose work joins clinical mental health care with decades of humanitarian service. Trained in trauma-focused and attachment-centered approaches, she has spent more than two decades working in mental health and educational settings while building a body of service abroad.

Much of that service has taken root in West Africa. Through her nonprofit, Project Safety Nets, Dillard has made 18 pilgrimages to Senegal and led more than 23 mission expeditions since her first transformative visit in 2008, mobilizing volunteers across the United States and West Africa.

Project Safety Nets operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built around education, health, and economic development, working to strengthen community infrastructure and connect communities across continents. Dillard’s approach centers emotional restoration and community resilience, carrying her expertise as a therapist into the humanitarian field.

Dillard was inducted as part of Sigma Gamma Rho’s Honorary Membership Class of 2026, a group of women recognized during the 2026 Boule Honorary Membership Ceremony for achievements spanning sports, entertainment, education, public service, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and global humanitarian work.

The ceremony took place as Sigma Gamma Rho gathered in Tampa, Florida, for its 61st Biennial Boule under International President Marica T. Harris. In announcing the class, Harris said the 2026 honorees “embody the spirit of service, the power of purpose,” carrying forward the sorority’s mission of Greater Service, Greater Progress.
