On September 1, the New England Patriots signed Erick Hunter to their 53-man roster, two days after the Detroit Lions released him in final cuts. The Morgan State University linebacker and member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. went undrafted in April.

The team that got him there is Divine Nine from top to bottom. Hunter is represented by Lady Lib Sports and Entertainment, led by Rasheeda S. Liberty, the 25th International Grand Basileus of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., who was his lead agent through pre-draft preparation and contract negotiation. She works alongside chief legal officer Joyvan Malbon-Griffin, a soror of Sigma Gamma Rho, and agents Jamar Creech and Kevius Morgan, both members of Omega Psi Phi. Christina Kanu-Allen, also a soror of Sigma Gamma Rho, handles public relations.

According to Morgan State Athletics, Hunter left second all-time in program history with 298 tackles in 45 games. He led the MEAC with 102 tackles in 2025, adding 14 tackles for loss and four sacks, and was named 2025-26 MEAC Male Student-Athlete of the Year. He ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash at the HBCU Showcase and met with 31 of the league’s 32 franchises before the draft.

Lady Lib has built its roster out of HBCU football, representing Davius Richard of North Carolina Central University, Irv Mulligan and JaCobian Morgan of Jackson State University, and Xavier Smith of Florida A&M University (FAMU).

Hunter had the tape and the 4.48. He also had a team that knew how to put both in front of 31 front offices and keep working after the draft ended without his name called. Two of the agents who negotiated his future are his own fraternity brothers. The talent was always his. The team he trusted with it was Divine Nine, and it is part of why he is on an NFL roster today.
