Meet Lains Love Albert: The Omega Psi Phi Brother Running for Davie Town Council in Florida
Lains Love Albert, a health care professional, Realtor, and member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., is running to represent District 1 on the Davie Town Council in Florida.
Albert was initiated in Spring 2019 through the Sigma Delta Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi. A Florida Atlantic University graduate who directed the Night Owls campus safety program, he served as Healthy Living Director at the YMCA of South Florida, expanded pulmonary rehabilitation at Holy Cross Hospital, and now serves as Florida State Captain with the COPD Foundation. He describes his run as part of a larger story about Greek life shaping public service.
His grassroots campaign, Switching Lains 4 Davie, centers on public safety, economic development, technological innovation, smart growth, fiscal transparency, and health care advocacy.
According to Albert, the bid would make him the first Black and Haitian American candidate to seek the seat. Davie’s District 1 voters head to the polls on November 3, 2026.
