NASCAR Debuts Its First Delta Sigma Theta Show Car in Charlotte, Designed by Soror Camilla Wilkins-Bowens
NASCAR brought its first-ever show car branded for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to the sorority’s 2026 South Atlantic Regional Conference in Charlotte, and the design came from one of the sorority’s very own undergraduate sorors.
The car was designed by Camilla Wilkins-Bowens, a NASCAR NEXT intern and Louisiana State University student who was initiated into the Iota Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta in Fall 2025. As both a member of the sorority and an intern inside NASCAR, Bowens-Wilkins built the design to celebrate the sorority while showcasing the work of NASCAR’s internship program.
The activation was a first of its kind for NASCAR at a Divine Nine event. Over the course of the conference, attendees saw the custom show car up close and took on NASCAR racing simulators, bringing an interactive motorsports experience to the thousands of Delta Sigma Theta members who traveled to Charlotte.
The project came together through the NASCAR NEXT Internship Program, which gives students hands-on experience contributing to high-profile initiatives that reach fans and communities across the country. For Wilkins-Bowens, that meant leading creative work that extends beyond the racetrack and into the community she is a part of.
