Alpha Kappa Alpha Is Bringing More Than 25,000 Sorority Sisters to Las Vegas for Its 72nd Boule

More than 25,000 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are converging on Las Vegas this week for the sorority’s 72nd Boule, its international meeting, held July 18 through July 24, 2026, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center. The sorority anticipates as many as 27,000 members from around the world under this year’s theme, “Soaring Together: Celebrating Our Impact on Service & Sisterhood.”

The week brings together the sorority sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha for community service, leadership and educational sessions, business meetings, and celebrations of the organization’s history, all under the leadership of International President and CEO Danette Anthony Reed.

Beyond the sorority’s business meetings and internal proceedings, the week is built around service. On Sunday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., thousands of members will work to combat food insecurity and support families with infants across Southern Nevada. Volunteers will pack 15,000 weekend meals for unhoused children and teens, to be donated to Project 150 and the Clark County School District. Members will also assemble mother-and-baby care kits and donate more than 250,000 diapers to 4Kira4Moms, an organization advocating for improved maternal health.

That same day, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the sorority will attempt a Guinness World Records title for Most People Assembling Hunger Relief Packages. The goal is to rally more than 2,000 members to assemble 15,000 CHIPP (Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack) weekend meal bags, also destined for Project 150 and the Clark County School District to nourish food insecure children when school is out of session.
