If you didn’t already know, the beautiful sophisticated women of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. are coming to Cleveland, Ohio this weekend for their Boule.

Yes, that is right, the SGRhos are blessing the “Forest City” with their presence. The Cavaliers winning the NBA title is not the only blessing the city is getting this year and we are sure that every man in the Cleveland who just found out that they are coming looks something like thisgiphy-3

Or this…

We at are super excited about this weekend so we connected with the SGRhos to get the scoop on what all is happening during the Boule. While we know that these women are going to be working hard during the day planning how to make the world a better place, we also know that they are great hostesses and have created some very exciting events for NPHC Greeks to attend.

Here are the top events that we think non-SGRho greeks should be super hyped about:

1) The SGRhos are throwing a “Divine 9 Unity Cruise” yacht party in collaboration with the men of Kappa Alpha Psi on Saturday. This is the perfect place to go, relax, meet new people, and get your dance on. For those of you who are “doing it for the gram/snap” inclined, we suggest going to this and getting your Aaliyah “Rock the Boat” related hashtags and captions ready.

2) There is going to be a step show and a swimsuit fashion show, sponsored by USA Swimming! Yes that is correct. The US Swim Team has teamed up with Sigma Gamma Rho for a FASHION SHOW.

You already know that the step show is going to be LIT!

3) SGRho Nationals just announced that Miss USA Deshauna Barber is going to be there this weekend! She is an SGRho! If you are lucky you might get a picture with her!

4) Musiq Soulchild will be there performing on Saturday. Yes we said it. Musiq Soulchild.

Wait one second, we can’t just break you off with one Musiq Soulchild song…here is another

5) There is also a Public Meeting this weekend. So you know. Get your fraternity blazer/Sorority dress to the dry cleaners ASAP. Call your frat brothers or sorors and tell them to show up, show out, and show some greek unity support.

Share this post with your friends and family on Facebook. Let’s make this news go viral.

This SGRho Boule is going to be one for the books!

This Is How Sigma Gamma Rho Is Working to Reduce Drowning Rates

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and USA Swimming sponsored the 2017 Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) biennial World Junior Swimming Championships from August 23 – August 28, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The sorority was the presenting sponsor and did this as part of their mission to decrease drowning in the United States.

“This agreement expands the sorority’s five-year old partnership with USA Swimming and designates it as the only non-profit sorority involved in this world-class event. ‘It’s exciting to see the continued growth of our partnership with Sigma Gamma Rho as it elevates to the international stage with the sponsorship of the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships,” said Tim Hinchey, President & CEO of USA Swimming. “With the organization’s strong ties to Indianapolis, this event presents the perfect opportunity to showcase the unique relationship Sigma Gamma Rho has with USA Swimming.'” the sorority stated in a press release.

“The sponsorship between USA Swimming and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority will increase awareness about our “Swim 1922” partnership, named for the year our sorority was founded, aims to increase swim participation and decrease drowning rates in our communities,” stated Deborah Catchings-Smith, the International President of Sigma Gamma Rho.

“Last year alone, nearly 20,000 sorority members and affiliates participated in 117 swim clinics across the United States. These clinics yielded more than 2,500 swim lessons. “This partnership is a game changer for Sigma Gamma Rho as it aligns with our mission and strategic planning goals.” the press sororities release stated.

Alon with their swim clinics, the sorority hosted a class on how to protect Black hair while swimming and learning to swim.

Take a look at this interview that was done with International President Deborah Catchings-Smith as well as some of the people who helped with the event.

According to the press release, “A recent study by the USA Swimming Foundation revealed a 5-10 percent improvement amongst America’s youth in overall swimming ability from its previous findings in 2010. The study was conducted by the University of Memphis and University of Nevada-Las Vegas. USA Swimming attributes much of this decline to the sorority’s efforts.”

We are ready to make waves! The Swim 1922 Clinic will begin soon! #SGRho #SigmaGammaRho #FINAWorldJrsIndy #Swim1922
